ZYPHYR

Piyush Bhatnagar is a retired technology innovator whose second act has become a joyful and deliberate exploration of creative writing. While in his professional career he authored and co-authored technical books, research papers, and patents in systems, security, and digital identity, a more poetic voice had long existed alongside it - quietly expressing itself through personal notes, journals, and reflections.

Piyush has spent much of his life living between places, between countries, cultures, and ways of seeing the world. Raised in India and later building a life abroad, he learned early on that movement changes not just where you are, but how you observe, listen, and remember.

After years working in the technology world - as a technologist, executive, founder, and entrepreneur— Piyush Bhatnagar eventually followed a different calling: creative writing.  Though I spent my career authoring books, papers, and patents in security and digital identity, a more poetic voice had always been present, quietly expressing itself in my personal notes and journals.

A lifelong reader, he was drawn to stories long before he considered writing his own. Books became companions, teachers, and quiet witnesses to his curiosity about people and the often-unnoticed moments that reveal who they truly are. Writing, however, remained private for many years – confined to notebooks, fragments of thought, and conversations held mostly with himself.

That changed when he enrolled in a parent–child creative writing class with his elder daughter. What began as an effort to encourage her curiosity slowly became an invitation to honor his own. Revisiting experiences he had lived but never fully examined, Piyush began shaping memory into narrative, discovering that stories gain meaning not only from what happens, but from how we endure it.

In the last decade, that voice found its place.  In recent years he has devoted himself to creative expression – writing poetry, composing songs, and exploring the intersections between language and music. His work draws from his emotions, deep personal experiences, and inner reflections, expressed through poems and lyrics. Today, with the help of modern tools,  he has released  a few songs based on his poetry and writings under the name “Zyphyr.” The word means “soft morning breeze - felt but never seen,” a metaphor for the subtle, often unseen influences that shape our lives and creativity.

He has also published a non-technical/non-fiction book "The Never Ending Flight" which captures the humor, irony, and humanity of an unforgettable travel adventure. Rooted in his own experience, this narrative is a true story and It follows the emotional arc of the journey - from hope and chaos to reflection and calm.
